1-7-22 THOUGHTS
Frequently in God’s Word, we find concentrated areas of simple PRACTICAL APPLICATION.
In simple terms, the passages tell me how to behave. Our behavior is to be a presentation of God’s goodness! The idea that “if we believe we will speak” is powerful. Have we comfortably separated our belief from SPEAKING? God’s GRACE TO MORE and MORE PEOPLE is our goal. We have marching orders to go and make disciples! In Matt 5:3-12 Jesus tells us who to be, so that we can be SALT and LIGHT to a lost and dying world.
Titus 2:11-15 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12 instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14 who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds. 15 These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.
Titus 3:1-8 Remind them to be subject to rulers, to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good deed, 2 to malign no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing every consideration for all men. 3 For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. 4 But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, 5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men.
Titus 3:14 And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
2Cor 4:13-15 But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I BELIEVED, THEREFORE I SPOKE," we also believe, therefore we also speak, 14 knowing that He who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and will present us with you. 15 For all things are for your sakes, so that the grace which is spreading to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God.
My Prayer:
We praise you O God for your wondrous dealings with us. Your grace has appeared on this earth, and You have poured marvelous riches upon us in Christ Jesus. We pray that Your grace may spread more and more through us, to more and more people, that You, O God, may receive the glory. As we believe O Lord, may we speak, may we bear fruit. May we cause the giving of thanks to abound to your glory. In the name of our Lord Jesus Amen
